Time to take some pictures! Use the following images as a guide for the pictures that we need.
1. MAIN PANEL: Let’s take a look at your main panel location! The main panel for a townhouse or a multi-unit residence is usually located inside the house. The three most common places you will find your main panel are, the garage, the laundry room or inside a closet. Please send a picture of the complete panel, preferably from 15ft-30ft away. We need to be able to see the surroundings of the panel and be able to identify its location. Be sure to include the ceiling as well, as many times, we use the ceiling to run the wire.
2. LOAD CALCULATION: We need a picture of the Breakers inside your Main Panel. The breaker numbers have to be legible so that we can do a Load Calculation to figure out your maximum available power, and to be sure that you won’t trip breakers when you plug in your Electric Vehicle.
3. MAIN DISCONNECT: We need to be able to see how much power is being distributed to your townhouse. Most times, the main disconnect is located outside the house on a cluster of meters for the townhomes that are attached. Be sure to take a close-up image where the rating on the breaker is legible. Usually, main breakers are marked 100, 125, 150, 200 and are located beside your Meter. (Be sure to open the black box if it has a black box).
4. GARAGE: Please try sending us many pictures of your garage or location where you will park your car. It is important that you take pictures of the wall where you want the EV Charger installed.
